🎮 Gaming Course Author Wanted | CG Boost is hiring

Hey Reader,

Alan here,

We’re excited to share that CG Boost is looking to hire and collaborate with new course creators.

Currently, we're focused on working with an Unreal Engine or Unity game developer to create a new high quality course, designed to help students create their first indie video game from start to finish.

This opportunity is for you if you…

  • Have a strong understanding of Unreal Engine or Unity and know how to bring an indie game (with a reasonable scope) to life, step by step.
  • Are passionate about teaching and game creation.
  • Feel comfortable speaking on camera (or are eager to grow that skill).
  • Love seeing students turn their creativity into playable projects.

If that is not you, we are also open to other course ideas. Do you have a killer idea, but could use a boost to make it a reality? Then hit reply and let us know what you would love to teach on.

About the Course

  • The course will guide students through creating their first game and integrating Blender for asset creation.
  • You’d be the main course author, focusing on the Unreal or Unity side of development.
    • Optionally, our other CG Boost instructors can handle supporting topics, like modeling game characters and assets, to keep the workload balanced.

Why Create a Course with CG Boost?

In short, we believe we have built a platform and reputation of delivering quality and fun courses to our audience that you'll benefit from:

  • Reach our dedicated audience, without needing to build your own platform or marketing funnel from scratch.
We’ve spent years growing our newsletter, YouTube channel, and social media presence to genuinely provide value and inspiration to aspiring 3D artists. After the course is released, our team will help to keep the course updated and provide quality support for the students.
  • Your course won’t compete with our current courses, they will complement.
Other platforms have courses fight for visibility and undercut each other on price, CG Boost works like an ecosystem, every course we publish is carefully chosen to fit together, helping students grow into better, more complete artists.
  • We guide and support you. Our goal is not necessarily to work with the most experienced course creators out there, but to find passionate and talented artists who are hungry to grow and excited to teach.
We have full team feedback sessions, internal planning tools & templates, and are transparent about how our finances work with the team. From planning and recording to editing, feedback, beta testing, and post-launch support, we help you through the entire process so you can focus on creating a truly kick-ass course while we handle the business side.

Compensation & Commission

  • Before course launch: The total course production budget is between $10,000 and $20,000, depending on the scope and your experience. The payment is spread out in monthly installments during the course creation, for up to 10 months.
  • After course launch: You’ll also receive a commission on every course sale, with a higher rate during the launch period, followed by a steady long-term rate for the lifetime of the course. This is where most creators earn the majority of their compensation.
  • Specific payments and commissions terms are discussed individually, we aim for a fair, win-win partnership that matches your availability and involvement during the course creation.

Long-Term Potential

We value lasting partnerships with our instructors. Beyond this course, there are opportunities to create future courses, YouTube content, and profit-sharing options within CG Boost.

This game creation project is one of our most requested course topics, with strong potential if you’re the right fit.

If this sounds exciting, please carefully fill out the application form below. We’ll personally review every submission and will get back to you soon.

Hey Reader, Alan here, I help manage CG Boost. Today I want to share a second, more personal newsletter with you. Last week, I wrote about making art for the sake of art, and about not automatically following the more deconstructive trends in 3D. If you missed that one, you can read it by clicking here. This time, I want to talk about something many of my 3D artist friends (myself included) ran into when a creative hobby slowly started turning into something more serious. My career started as...

Hey Reader, Alan here, I help manage CG Boost. It's our Christmas/holiday break at CG Boost, I wanted to write you a thought piece. My goal with this email is to give you a bit of breathing room and maybe help you make a few wise choices on your creative artistic path. I want to start at the end by making two suggestions. Nothing too dramatic, but two clear ways, I invite you to be a bit of a rebel as a 3D artist. Rebellion Suggestion #1 Say no to hustle culture more often. When was the last...
