🚀 [Resources] Spider-Man Animation Breakdown + New 3D Challenge + More 3D News

Hey Reader,

We're back with new inspiration and resources from the 3D world.

Today, we have an amazing Spider-Man animation breakdown, a new 3D challenge, and a selection of the best talks from this year’s Blender Conference.

Before we move on, a last friendly reminder that our Early Bird sale for the Blender Launch Pad 2 course ends today.

Now let's dive right in.

Amazing Spider-Man Animation + Free NYC Assets

Peter France (former Corridor Crew member) revisited his old Spider-Man animation project and shared his process in this great video.

He walks through every stage of a VFX shot and how to realistically animate a human character. It’s a true goldmine of little tips and observations that can help you level up your work, and it’s very entertaining to watch.

The goodies don’t end here, as Peter has generously decided to freely share all the scanned 3D assets of New York City he made for the project. You can download them here.

You can still pay what you want if you'd like to show your support and gratitude for his work.

Blender Conference 2026 - Best Talks

Blender Conference is always such an inspiring event. Unfortunately, only 2 CG Boost members were able to attend this year.

If you also weren't able to go to Amsterdam, there's always the option of watching the talks online.

We’ve made a selection of some presentations we really liked:

  • 3D Printing Dinosaurs 1:1 - Alex Chamberlain talks about 3D printing huge dinosaurs made in Blender. It’s super inspiring to see his childhood dream coming to life in adulthood, all thanks to Blender.
  • Blender in the ‘Backrooms’ - Another showcase of Blender’s big-screen success. Calvin Romeyn, Associate Visual Effects Supervisor, shows how Blender was used as a main tool in the VFX production of A24’s Backrooms movie.
  • Swiss Clocks made in Blender - Albin Merle from Swiss studio LeTruc shows how Blender can be a great, flexible tool for creative product visualisation at the highest level.
  • Improve Non-Photorealistic Rendering by drawing - Dave Ferner from Real Good Liars shares a not-so-obvious trick for improving your NPR skills. The presentation even turns into a real-time drawing session!
  • ‘Grandma Z’ animation and Clay Pencil - Daniel Martinez Lara, the man behind Blender’s Grease Pencil project, shares the current status of the experimental Clay Pencil project, which can generate 3D objects straight from a Grease Pencil doodle. He also shows a funny Grandma Z animation made with it.
  • Realistic animal fur in Blender - Steve Chow from VFX Grace Studio shares some really in-depth techniques for creating high-quality photorealistic animal fur with Blender’s new hair curves system.

GTA Car Render Challenge (With a 3D Alligator!)

The long-awaited premiere of the ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ video game is right around the corner, and to celebrate this, models.org made it the theme of the new 3D Car Rendering Challenge.

If you love cars and 3D art, this challenge is perfect for you. And there’s a special twist added - a huge, realistic 3D alligator model straight out of Florida (where GTA 6 takes place).

The goal of the challenge is to create a 3D car model that you'd like to see in the GTA6 game and make a render with the car and the alligator in it.

You can find the full list of rules, prizes and the download link for the alligator model on the challenge website.

That’s all from us today. Have a great weekend, and till next time.

Hey Reader, Zach here, Today I have a free lesson from my new Blender Launch Pad 2 course for you. While I built the course, my goal was to create many small example scenes and exercises, besides the main car project, to make learning the fundamentals of Blender really fun and engaging. As I built these scenes, some required placing hundreds of objects, which can be super tedious when done manually. Just imagine placing a bunch of tools and other elements on a workbench by hand. This is where...
