Zach here, With new inspirations and resources from the 3D world. Today I have an Audio Visualizer Masterclass by Polyfjord, a tutorial on rigging 2-handed weapons, and a "Love, Death and Robots" Vol. 4 Teaser. Finally, I'll share an overview of our latest Cinematic Storytelling course. Let’s dive in. Polyfjord’s new "Audio Visualizer Masterclass"Asbjørn Lote (also known as Polyfjord) has just released his first Blender course, Audio Visualizer Masterclass. The course teaches how to use sound data to drive animations in multiple interesting ways. It also comes with some great assets, including a Blender add-on that makes importing and using audio data for animation a matter of a few clicks. For the first week, the course is 20% off, by using the code 20earlybird. Join the Audio Visualizer Masterclass here (affiliate link) This announcement video is a showcase of his great presentation and teaching style, covering what the course is all about. Rigging two-handed Weapons in Blender (Tutorial)If you have ever tried to rig a character wielding a two-handed weapon (like a spear, a big axe, or a rifle), you know how hard it can be using Blender’s standard Child of Constraint. Pierrick Picaut from P2Design has just shared a great solution to this issue and explained it thoroughly in this tutorial. He uses a combination of additional control bones, drivers, and custom properties that allow for switching the control of the weapon between the hand bones and other parts of the rig without errors. For even more in-depth Blender rigging training, check out Pierrick's extensive "Art of Effective Rigging" course. (affiliate link) "Love Death + Robots" Vol. 4 TeaserContent warning for young and sensitive viewers! It may include some gore and violence, as well as sexual themes and profanity. "Love Death + Robots" was a groundbreaking series for 3D animation, introducing serious and mature themes on Netflix. Another season (Vol. 4) is coming, and this teaser video provides a taste of what to expect. I’m pretty excited for it, as the previous three seasons managed to keep both the high-quality visuals standard and interesting, unique stories. A look inside "Master Cinematic Storytelling in Blender"Martin Klekner’s new course trailer has received an overwhelmingly great reception. However, as our audience pointed out, it missed one small but vital thing: a clear overview of the course contents. This video provides a more in-depth look inside the course, so you can get a good idea of what you can learn with it. I believe these fundamentals are one of the most important (but often overlooked) concepts and skills that you can learn to take your visual storytelling art to a whole new level. No matter what genre or style you create in, whether you use only Blender or all the tools in the world, these are evergreen guidelines that will help you navigate the entire creative process. The course is still on Early Bird Sale, so you can grab it at 20% off (expires May 2nd, 2025). Use the code EARLYBIRD20 at checkout.
That’s all from me today, have a great weekend, and till next time. ~Zach |
