Zach here, with a new round of exciting 3D news. Today I have a classic retro-styled Godzilla animation and a dangerously funny assassin in a box for you. There are also some cool freebies to collect, so stick with me. Original 1954 Godzilla VFXGodzilla (or Gojira) is a pop-culture phenomenon that keeps fascinating new generations all the time, but not all of us have seen the amazing original Japanese movie from 1954 (video above). But what if I told you it wasn’t actually a film made in 1954, but a modern animation created entirely in Blender? I couldn’t believe that too! It’s true. TAIYAKI who created the thing has managed to trick even professional VFX artists from the Corridor Crew's YouTube channel (here’s their reaction video where they fall into the trap 😁). TAIYAKI also made a breakdown video where he shows exactly how he created the shots in Blender. It’s amazing to see so much work and passion put into this piece, and it really shows the power of Blender in the hands of a skilled artist. If you want to give your animation skills a boost to be able to tackle your own animation projects, then learning rigging in Blender is a must. Let me quickly remind you of the special 15% discount, still available for P2Design's "The Art Of Effective Rigging 2" course. 15% Off Coupon Code: CGBOOST Enroll in The Art of Effective Rigging 2 It expires June 19th, 2024 at 11:59pm CEST. You can get a free taste of Pierrick’s skills and the knowledge he shares in this video, where he shows how he created an impressive short animation in Blender. Blender Market’s 10th Birthday GiveawayIt’s great to see Blender grow through the years, but there are also amazing Blender related projects, businesses and creators that grow along with it. It’s been 10 years already that we have a Blender dedicated marketplace (Blender Market) where most of us buy our add-ons, models and other helpful assets, supporting independent creators and the Blender development at the same time (a cut of the sales goes to the Blender Foundation). To celebrate their 10th birthday, the creators of Blender Market are making a 10-day giveaway, offering a free product each day. It started on Monday (June 10th), so there are only a few days/gifts left. This is a great opportunity to get some quality Blender products for free. Killer Animation in a BoxThere are more and more independent creators making high quality animation productions on their own. Crowdfunding such projects is a great way to make this possible without big studios or Hollywood backing. Here’s a great project that has been cooking for several years and now is running a Kickstarter campaign (it already reached its goal, but you can still support it, if you like.) The Box Assassin project is a funny and full-of-action story of a killer that hides in delivery boxes of all kinds and sizes. You can get to know the details about this upcoming animated series straight from its creator Jeremy Schaefer (animator who works at Dreamworks). There’s no fear of "buying the cat in a bag" or should I say "in a box" 😉 as there is already the short movie Jeremy has made that shows the "killer" quality (pun intended) he can deliver: Have a great week! ~Zach |
