Zach here, With new inspiration and resources from the 3D world. Today, I’ll share a Blender cloth simulation tutorial, a charming shape-shifting carton jug animation, and a useful add-on for physics-based object scattering. Let’s dive in. The Complete Guide to Cloth Simulations in BlenderIf you've ever tried cloth simulation in Blender, you know it’s not the easiest part to master. It is, in fact, one of the most common roadblocks our students hit when following our Free Blender Beginners Course. SouthernShotty gathered all the basics of how things work in Blender’s cloth sim department into one comprehensive video tutorial. You’ll get to understand the most important settings and how to make the simulations run smoother (possibly saving you hours of struggles and headaches). Carton Jugs Animation in BlenderDot4 Studio shared this cool animation of kitchen vessels made of cardboard, dynamically changing shape (with a little help from adhesive tape). The idea is fun and beautifully executed. It shows the power of Blender’s Geometry Nodes (used to create the cardboard structure that adapts to different shapes). Simple but effective lighting and animation make it a mesmerizing piece of art to watch. ScatterFlow - Physics-based Scattering for BlenderThere are many ways of scattering objects in Blender, but if you need to pile up some debris or a bunch of fruits in a bowl, then using physics might be the best way. You can do it using Blender’s rigid bodies (learn how to do this from my short video), but with ScatterFlow, a new addon by Apex Assets, you can do it much easier, quicker, and with more fun. It is currently 25% off when you use the following coupon code: scatter Grab ScatterFlow here (affiliate link) To learn more about how the add-on works, watch this demo video. ~Zach. |
