Zach here, With a fresh dose of inspiration and resources from the 3D world. Today, I’ll share a beautiful music video made in Blender, followed by a new community challenge by Poly Haven. Next, I’ll share info about the Cyber Week Sale from P2Design, and some Blender quick tips from our instructors. Let’s dive in. Korean Music Video made in BlenderThis impressive video for the Korean rock band Cotoba was created in Blender by 3D artist Kyeonghongkim. The dreamy, painterly style of the characters and environments perfectly suits the story of a girl experiencing a surreal "vision" or "temptation" of some kind. The video starts with slow and peaceful vibes, but the tension builds up nicely and opens up amazing, creative shots that don’t stop surprising until the end. "Project Lighthouse" - New Community Challenge by Poly HavenPoly Haven has launched a new community challenge called "Project Lighthouse". The idea is to release a game with Public Domain 3D assets made by the community. The game will be released as a paid product to support Poly Haven, but all the assets will join the ever-growing library for everyone to use, no strings attached. There are prizes for all who submit assets that meet the quality standards, plus lots of cool prizes for those who submit the best models. We’ve also added our courses to the prize pool. You can pick the level of complexity of the asset to create depending on your skills and experience. Simple props like a nail or hammer are needed as much as the sophisticated ones like a portable power generator. The theme revolves around a lighthouse location, so it should be something related to the topic (a mood board is provided). Check out all the details and join the challenge here. P2Design Cyber Week SaleIt’s still Black Friday on P2Design Academy (until Monday, December 8th, 2025). 😀 You can get 25% OFF all P2Design courses with the code: BF2025 Grab P2Design Academy Courses here (affiliate link) This is the best time to buy these awesome Blender animation and rigging courses, as Pierrick doesn’t do big sales often (he explains why in this video). The New Array Modifier in Blender 5.0 - with Jim MorrenBlender 5.0 has brought a long-awaited new Array Modifier that allows for making Circular Arrays (without cumbersome workarounds), randomizing transforms for arrayed instances, and more. Jim Morren provides an overview of these new features in this short video. Using Mat Caps to Create Fake Lights - with Louis du MontCan you have an object well-lit, independent of any lighting in the scene? Yes, you can! With MatCaps, you can bake lighting onto your 3D models. Louis shows how to set it up to achieve cool NPR effects that will stay exactly how you want them, no matter what angle you view them from, or what the weather is. 😉 Save Modeling Time via Linked Copies of Collections - with Zach ReinhardtIf your model has repetitive elements, there’s a cool trick you can use to model it effectively! Using Linked Copies of a Collection lets you model just one piece and have it previewed on all the parts live. This is useful for all sorts of stuff, not just Spider-Tanks. 👍 That’s all from me today. Have a great weekend, and till next time. ~Zach |

Hey Reader, Alan here, I help manage CG Boost. Today I want to share a second, more personal newsletter with you. Last week, I wrote about making art for the sake of art, and about not automatically following the more deconstructive trends in 3D. If you missed that one, you can read it by clicking here. This time, I want to talk about something many of my 3D artist friends (myself included) ran into when a creative hobby slowly started turning into something more serious. My career started as...
