Zach here, With a new dose of inspiration and resources from the 3D world. Today I have a new Pwnisher 3D Challenge, a story of our student who created a video game from our course, a free tutorial on creating huge 3D landscapes, and an amazing pixel art animation. Let’s dive in. "Chasm’s Call" - New Pwnisher 3D ChallengeIt’s this time of the year again! Another 3D challenge by Clinton Jones aka Pwnisher has started. This time it’s called "The Chasm’s Call" and it's about creating a 3D artwork based on a template depicting a character on the brink of a giant chasm. One of the goals to achieve is to make an impression of the huge scale of the scene. There are a lot of cool prizes to win, but the biggest award is the fun and learning you experience when entering such a challenge (not to mention some free versions of software like Marvelous Designer that you can test out for this project). Watch the announcement video of the challenge to learn about all the details. Making of "The Blender Launch Pad Game"One of our students truly went the extra mile with our Blender Launch Pad course. He decided to turn it into a playable game 🤯. Not only did he succeed, but also recorded a cool breakdown video of the process and what he learned through the experience. This fits so much with the spirit and values of CG Boost that I just had to share this with you. If you want to play the game, you can download it here. Create Stunning Landscapes in BlenderHuge landscapes in Blender are a huge challenge, but they’re enormously fun. So is this video by James Candy (CEO and Janitor at Classy Dog Studios). James shows his workflow and a ton of useful tips for creating impressive and realistic landscapes in Blender. Going from creating and modifying landforms’ 3D geometry to using masks to blend different materials and breaking texture repetition on vast terrains. The video is pretty long, but it’s packed with useful info and some great humor. In the video, James mentions his collection of high-quality assets for creating 3D landscapes called "Foundations of the Earth". It’s a big collection of ready-made textured meshes for building realistic terrains and some useful utilities. You can download a free sample of it or purchase it on Blender Market. Get Foundations of the Earth (affiliate link) If you’re interested in learning more about creating landscapes in Blender, I recommend (and so does James in his video) checking out Martin Klekner's Master 3D Environments in Blender course. "Line" - Amazing Pixel Art AnimationIn the age of 4K animations and photorealistic CGI, some artists take a step back into the retro pixelated looks of the ‘90s and create stunning animations regardless of resolution limits. This intense animated short by Luke Etcheverry called "Line" delivers high-octane emotions using simplified animations, all in a limited color palette. This goes to show that sometimes less can truly be more. That’s all from me today, have a great week and till next time. ~Zach |

Hey Reader, Zach here, Today is CG Boost’s 7th birthday as a platform. 🥳 Usually, when my personal birthday comes around on October 9th, we celebrate with our once-a-year-only big sale. But in the past at CG Boost’s birthday, we haven’t really done much to mark the occasion. That’s why this year, we wanted to do something small, but noteworthy. What started 7 years ago as a small channel with a big mission has grown into a platform where thousands of artists learn 3D and storytelling...
