Hey Reader,
Zach here,
Have you ever wondered how to give your 3D scenes that 2D look?
Imagine creating colorful drawings, but instead of sitting on a flat page, it exists in 3D space, as if you could step inside.
Our Magic Storybook course, created by our talented instructor and CG artist Kevin Ramirez, teaches you just that.
In this course, you learn how to utilize Blender's 2D drawing and animation tool called Grease Pencil, which allows you to create a hybrid of 2D and 3D scenes.
In the already released Part 1 of the course, you learn the basics of Grease Pencil and how to create a vivid animated fantasy village scene, by mainly drawing 2D strokes in 3D space.
Now, we are super excited to share that Part 2 just released, which completes the course.
In this new update you'll learn how to use more advanced Grease Pencil workflows and how to create 3D scenes (with actual 3D meshes), and give it that 2D look with cartoon shaders and Grease Pencil techniques.
Check out the new course trailer that provides more info on Part 2:
So, what exactly will you learn in part 2?
You can get the course 20% off until December 4th 16:00 CET as part of our Black Friday sale.

Hey Reader, Zach here, The other day, in a CG Boost team meeting, we were discussing how platforms are oversaturated with content and images, which can make it feel like, what’s the point of making more content? Then Masha who has been on our team since the very beginning of CG Boost said: The reason I create art is to give life to my imagination. I like the process of thinking about an idea and fully bringing it to life. That encouraged me. Like a breath of fresh air, it was a great reminder...
