🚀 [Resources] Blender 4.5's Grid Fill just Got Better, Blender Retro Style Game Demo and more...

Hey Reader,

Zach here,

With a new batch of news and inspiration from the 3D world.

Today I’ll share a Blender Secrets tutorial on the Grid Fill tool, an anime-style Grease Pencil short, and a free game demo with retro vibes.

Let’s dive in.

Grid fill in Blender 4.5 has just Got Better.

Jan from Blender Secrets has published a great overview of the new revamped Grid Fill tool in Blender 4.5.

Although it may seem like a small, basic modeling tool update, it brings so much new power to create models quickly. It can even be used as a quick retopology tool.

Blender Grease Pencil Animation "Duel"

Mathias Zamęcki made an amazing samurai fight scene with anime vibes in Blender.

Using a combination of a 3D stylized environment and 2D hand-drawn animated characters in Grease Pencil.

Which beautifully blends into a dynamic, dramatic battle that you should watch a few times just to appreciate the craftsmanship.

Retro Game Demo made with Blender on Steam

Blender is already one of the top tools for independent game developers. This intriguing game, called ‘Deep Pixel Melancholy’, evokes 90s pixelated graphics nostalgia.

It’s a classic point-and-click game about a person trapped in a time loop in a snowy and dark polar circle city. The graphics made in Blender are tastefully designed to teleport you to the past of low-resolution screens with dithered shadows and limited color palettes. The project looks like a work of passion and love from its creators.

There's a free playable demo available on Steam, so you can have a taste of how the game will feel.

If you’re a sucker for retro game vibes, I think you might love it.

That’s all from me today, have a great weekend, and till next time.

~Zach
