Zach here, With an Easter pack of fresh inspirations from the 3D world. 🐣 Today, I have a remake of a classic Warcraft III cinematic (with a breakdown), a new free Blender Eevee course, and an in-depth design analysis of a Millennium Falcon-inspired starship 3D model. Finally, ToAnimate runs an Easter Sale. Let’s dive in. A Tribute to a Classic - Warcraft III Opening RemasterI love Warcraft games’ cinematics. They are always well crafted, full of action, and fun to watch. 3D artist Alireza Akhbariarabani shares this love and made a fan-art animation that matches the level of Blizzard’s originals. Although I’m a long-time Blender user and our tutorials focus on free software, this doesn’t stop me from appreciating this amazing 3DS Max-made animation. What makes it super impressive is that it was a personal project made by a single, passionate artist. This goes to show that 3D art is all about passion and storytelling, and the tools are just a means to get to the end goal. Alireza also shares some behind-the-scenes in this breakdown video so you can learn and get inspired. How to use Eevee - Free Blender Course by Blender GuruThe Donut Guy (aka Andrew Price) has done it again. He created a thorough introduction to using Blender’s Eevee render engine. Andrew tackles the most important quirks of Eevee and explains them with simple words that any everyday guy without a Phd in computer graphics can understand. If you ever wondered why some objects are not visible in reflections, what causes light bleeding through an object’s corners, or how to get photorealistic quality images without spending hours on rendering with Cycles, this course is a must-watch. Did I mention it's 100% free? Star Wars Micro Millennium Falcon - Concept Design OverviewIf you’re a Star Wars fan (like me), you’ll enjoy this video. Rasmus Poulsen (Technoveau) - a veteran Concept Artist with 20 years of experience in the AAA games industry, shares his workflows and the design-thinking behind his Millennium Falcon-inspired spaceship model. It is a great opportunity to learn spaceship design in a fun and creative way. Not just the technical "how" of 3D modeling, but the more rarely explained "why" behind the designer’s choices. ToAnimate Easter Sale - 25% OffIf you’re serious about upgrading your animation skills, I can wholeheartedly endorse ToAnimate. They are not only experienced professionals and great teachers, but also very nice people (they helped us tremendously with the character animations for the trailers of our Master 3D Characters and Cinematic Storytelling courses). This spring, you can get all of their Blender Animation courses as well as assets on their 3D Marketplace for Animators 25 % off (affiliate links). Discount code: BUNNY25 The sale ends April 30th, 2025. That’s all from me today, have a great weekend, and till next time. Happy Easter! ~Zach |
