🚀 [Resources] Free Blender Motion Graphics Course + Animated Dinosaurs + More 3D News

Hey Reader,

We are back with a fresh dose of news, inspiration, and resources from the 3D world.

Today, we have a free Blender motion graphics course, an epic sci-fi animation and an amazing stylized 3D/2D short about dinosaurs in Australia.

Let’s dive right in.

Real-Time Motion Graphics in Blender Course 100% Free

Midge "Mantissa" Sinnaeve has just released his Real Time Motion Graphics Course for free on his YouTube Channel.

Though the course is not brand-new (it’s not made with the latest Blender version), it’s still a goldmine of useful techniques and valuable workflows that remain relevant. The amazing art by Midge is the best proof that these tips work.

The course covers procedural non-destructive workflows with modifiers, looping animations, as well as shaders, and rendering in EEVEE.

Check out the course trailer to get an idea what you'll learn.

Epic Sci-fi Mega-Structures Made in Blender

Paul Chadeisson (creator of Solistice - that we’ve shared before) strikes again with a mesmerizing short film full of futuristic, industrial mega structures.

The sense of scale and the overwhelming atmosphere of this dystopian vision of the future it conveys is both fascinating and terrifying. Truly cinematic level, however, there’s one thing bad about it: it ends too soon.😛

Looking forward to seeing more from Paul.

Dinosauria: Monsters Down Under - Animated in Blender

Unlike the previously mentioned "Second Skin", this short film dives way back into the past (to the prehistoric times of dinosaurs that roamed "The land down under", aka Australia).

It also goes the opposite way in terms of style, with cell shading and hand-painted textures, giving it an almost 2D illustration feeling. Despite those differences, it is at least equally epic and impressive.

David James Armsby, who created the "Dinosauria" series (watch the whole series here), really went the extra mile to achieve this great look in Blender. He even sculpted the dinosaur models in real clay to have a good reference for the 3D modeling and texturing.

The environments were done as 2D planes layered in 3D space to mix well with the animated 3D models. You can learn more about how it was made in this video.

That’s all for today. Have a great weekend, and until next time.
