Zach here, With a round of fresh news and inspirations from the 3D world. Starting with a summary of our latest community challenge. Next, I have a stunning airplane animation and a freemium rigging course from CG Dive. So, let’s CG dive in. (pun intended) The July CG Boost Challenge has Finished
Our 3D challenge ‘The Adventure Begins’ is over, but it truly is the beginning of smaller & more frequent challenges in our Community Forum. For this challenge, we got to see submissions that surprised us with cool and creative ideas. I’d love to share one artwork here, by John Harris, which made me feel inspired. The great idea and storytelling in this Cubic World's animation makes me want to start a new adventure in the low-poly world. I hope it motivates you to join our next challenge (coming soon). Airplane Animation with Realistic Clouds in Geometry NodesAdrien Latran has published an amazing airplane animation. One of the main things that stands out is the impressive volumetric clouds, which makes the sky feel very real and tangible. Here’s what he says about the creation process: ‘Made the plane from scratch and developed a fully procedural geometry nodes pipeline for cloud generation, all inside Blender!’. He also said he’s planning to share his process of making the clouds, so keep an eye out for that. Adrien is also the creator of a free Felt Maker geo-nodes tool (with a paid Pro version too). Freemium Rigging Course from CG DiveGet the Rigging Isn’t Scary Course here. (affiliate link) Many of our students have been requesting a rigging course. Although some of our courses include rigging chapters & lessons, this thorough introduction to the topic by Todor from CG Dive, is a great resource if you want to learn Blender rigging fundamentals. Todor is a rigging expert with impressive experience, and he poured his knowledge and teaching skills all into this course, which is why I encourage you to support him by watching or purchasing the course for as little as 9.99$. He was generous enough that he released this course on his YouTube channel for free. However, if you can afford it, buying it is a great way to support the creator and show gratitude for his hard work, even if you watch the entire course for free first. That’s all from me today, have a great weekend, and till next time. ~Zach |
