🚀 [Resources] Making great Animations in Blender, "Marathon" Game Cinematic and more…

Hey Reader,

Zach here,

With a fresh bunch of inspirations and resources from the 3D world.

Today I’ll start with an animation tips video, followed by an amazing "Marathon" game cinematic and an anime girl breaking the 4th wall in Blender. In Addition, I’ll share a useful Cinematic Compositor add-on and a new CG Boost video on fixing camera animation mistakes.

Let’s dive in

How to make great Animations in Blender (with Pierrick Picaut)

If you’re struggling to make your animations look good, Pierrick Picaut is here to help you out. He prepared a free YouTube video full of great tips on animation workflows in Blender.

Pierrick not only explains the main stages you should go through to make your animation look good, but also shares life-learned experiences and insights that helped him in his journey and can help you level up much quicker.

If you want more guidance from Pierrick, I highly recommend his Blender courses on animation and rigging.

"Marathon" Game Cinematic by Alberto Mielgo

Content warning! The video contains some drastic violence that may be inappropriate for young or sensitive viewers.

Alberto Mielgo is the creative brain behind such great productions like: "Into the Spiderverse" and "Love Death + Robots" episodes "The Witness" and "Jibaro". He has worked on the latest game cinematic for "Marathon" - a new shooter game by Bungie.

The whole animation has a distinct style with vibrant colors and futuristic design. Even though it’s mostly a chase and shoot sequence, it delivers a strong emotional story as well.

Anime Girls making a Mess inside Blender

You may have seen the previous work from kensyouen_Y who made an anime girl who plays with the Blender UI animation.

Kensouyen has just made another one with two anime girls interacting within Blender and entertainingly breaking the 4th wall.

Cinematic Compositor Add-on to Level up your Renders

The devil is often in the details, as they say. If you’re missing that little dose of spice in your render and want to make them look more cinematic, then Cinematic Compositor might be just what you’re looking for.

The add-on contains ready-made commonly used cinematic Compositing effects such as Orange & Teal color grade or lens flares that you can apply with a click and adjust with simple sliders. It also emulates subtle film effects like halation and film grain that can give your render a more organic and less CGI feeling.
