Zach here, With a fresh collection of news from the 3D world. Today I have a Kickstarter launch for a promising Blender VFX course by InLightVFX, a Humble Bundle of the best add-ons from Blender Market, a pro character animator sharing his 25 years journey, a new Car Render Challenge and a cute animation teaser. Let’s dive in. "Master 3D VFX in Blender" by InLightVFX on KickstarterJacob from InLightVFX (who’s De-Lighting tutorial we recently shared) is preparing the Kickstarter launch of his promising looking "Master 3D VFX in Blender" course. By backing the course on Kickstarter, you can pre-order it with a big discount. Jacob is a master of this craft, and he has a great gift of explaining complex techniques and making them easy-to-follow. If you want to level up your VFX skills, this is a must-have course for sure. The Kickstarter campaign launches on October 1st. You can also watch this sneak peek video of what’s inside the course. Humble Bundle with the best of Blender Market’s Add-ons 2024There is a great Humble Bundle deal for you, if you’re looking to buy some helpful Blender add-ons. This bundle contains a selection of the best add-ons of 2024 from Blender Market. Humble Bundle is a site offering great "pay-what-you-want" bundles of games, books and software, and donating a part of the price to charities. You can choose a different amount (4, 13 or 31) of bundled add-ons depending on the amount you decide to pay. Hurry up, the deal will be available only for one more week. 11th Annual Car Render Challenge 2024Here’s something for you if you’re missing our CG Boost Challenges. 3dmodels.org (formerly known as Hum3D) announced their annual Car Render Challenge for 3D artists. I participated in this challenge in 2016 and even won a special prize for my artwork "Final Takeoff" (check it here). This time (as a few times before) I will be one of the judges for the challenge, and I’m excited to see all the creative artworks. Previous editions were always very inspiring, with many cool unexpected images among the more typical good-looking automotive renders. If you love modeling cars and want to give your creative spin to this topic, join the challenge here. I’m curious what you will come up with. 3D Animator recreates his first project after 25 yearsWhether you’re just starting with learning 3D or you’re already experienced, it’s good to learn from others who made the journey before you. John Knowles, a 3D animator and director, shares the lessons he learned from the early days when he just bought a 3D magazine (and was hooked by the idea of making his own 3D animations) throughout his entire 25-year-long career as a professional 3D animator. Some tips in the video might seem trivial, but in fact, they are really profound and backed by real-life experience. I hope John’s story inspires you to pursue your dream projects and the desire to try new things, however hard to achieve they might seem. Here’s his video to get you inspired. "Earthquake Tuners" - Cute Blender 3D Animation TeaserCgsnob - a 3D artist using Blender shared a short but impressive teaser for his animated project Earthquake Tuners. The animation has a nice painterly style and a really cute green creature. The author says he wants to develop this into a whole animated series. You can also take a look at some more "making of" sneak-peeks at his ArtStation page. The teaser got me looking forward to seeing more from Cgsnob, I'm sure you'll love it too. That’s it from me for today. Have a great week and till next time! ~Zach |
